These pictures aren't the greatest because of the dim lighting, but the evening I spent listening to Ken Burns was a very enjoyable experience. Earlier this month at the Davis School District Leadership Conference, I won tickets for two to attend the dinner/lecture event with Ken Burns. The two tickets were worth a total of $160. I gave the second ticket to my friend and coworker, Jayna Rice.
Usually I'm not much into lectures and that sort of thing, but I found Ken Burns very interesting. Ken Burns is a renowned filmmaker for PBS. He has directed and filmed several documentaries, with one of his documentaries (Brooklyn Bridge) receiving an Academy Award in 1981. He has recently completed a documentary on the National Parks and this is what he spoke mainly of at tonight's dinner/lecture. He is definitely an amazing person and a great speaker. I loved listening to his stories.
